Design director at a custom lighting manufacturing company. Created concepts, designs and engineering drawings for new collections. Responsible for custom lighting in hospitality, retail, and religious institutions. Tasks included project management, leading client meetings, engineering, prototyping, working with metal and glass factories, project management, costing and sourcing.


SENIOR INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER - STERLING STREET DESIGN - 2020 - 2021

Senior designer and owner of a design consultancy. Designed new products for manufacturers and entrepreneurs. Bridged the technical gap with practical solutions, timelines, and real world thinking. Services included  concept generation, sketching,  and line building. Provided renderings, engineering packages, prototyping, costing and sourcing.


INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER - MEYER DAVIS 2018 - 2021

Lead industrial designer at an interior design firm specializing in hospitality design. Responsible for the creation of objects and furnishings for clients, commercial projects, and licensed partners. Licensed products ranged from furniture, bath and lighting. Tasked to turn the team’s specification knowledge into licensed products. Created designs through hand sketching, CAD drafting and 3-D modeling. Management duties included setting schedules, managing correspondence, creating and leading presentations.


SENIOR DESIGNER - THOMAS O’BRIEN / AERO STUDIOS 2012 - 2017

Lead designer and project manager responsible for Aero Studios product design. Manufacturing partners included Visual Comfort Lighting, Waterworks Bath Hardware, Safavieh Carpet, Century Furniture and Reed & Barton Fine Dinnerware. Collaborated with the principle to refine ideas and create tech packs. Managed timelines and deliverables. Lead a team of industrial designers and architectural draftsmen for a product introduction. Traveled to factories to review prototypes.


PRODUCT DESIGNER - ROBERT A.M. STERN ARCHITECTS 2006 - 2012

Lead designer responsible for the creative development of Robert A.M. Stern Architects decorative arts initiatives. Manufacturing partners included Lightolier Lighting, Bentley Prince Street Carpet, Crossville Tile, SA Baxter Hardware, Landscape Forms Furniture, Haddonstone Accessories, Innovations Wallcovering, Bendheim Glass, Lualdi Doors, and David Edward Furniture. Developed original creative content inspired by both classical and modern architecture. Refined concepts with the founder, senior partners, project architects and interior designers. Brought product to market with print, digital and trade shows.


PARTNER - FULTON STREET DESIGN INC. 2004 - 2006

Designer and partner of a Manhattan design studio. Responsibilities included new business development and product design. Clients included Bed Bath & Beyond and Kmart. Designed and engineered products for manufacture in domestic and International markets. Worked with the merchants and design teams to develop product in key growth areas, such as back to college and bath storage.


PRODUCT DESIGNER - MARTHA STEWART LIVING OMNIMEDIA, INC. 2003 - 2004

Designer to the merchandising segment of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc. Developed products for Everyday Home, Kmart, Bernhardt, and The Catalog for Living. Identified new design ideas from the print magazines for Home, Cooking, Entertaining, Gardening, Crafts, Holiday, and Keeping.


DESIGNER - PORTER NOVELLI 1999 - 2003

Communications designer at a global public relations firm. Designed for print, web, motion graphics, and interactive promotion for Fortune 500 companies. Develped the corporate brand by working on the global website. Worked with account teams and clients to develop concepts and public relations strategies. Clients included Gillette, GlaxoSmithKline, Hewlett Packard, Wyeth, Kellogg’s, and MM Mars. 


SENIOR DESIGNER - RAYMOND WAITES DESIGN, INC. 1993 - 1999

Hard home designer at a new home furnishings design studio.  Oversaw a period of growth for the design licensing company. Designed products and packaging for multiple categories such as furniture, lighting, tabletop, gift-ware, and accessories. Traveled biannually with vendors to China and the Philippines to develop and source new product.
